The following is some advice that may help your participation in Hearthstone
be more enjoyable:
-
Remember that by posting to the list you are inviting everyone on it to
reply.
-
Remember that posting to the list does not guarantee a response. Just as
you will not reply to every message that comes across, no one else on the
list will reply to every message--and ocassionally some messages draw
no replies at all.
-
Remember that Hearthstone is very eclectic in its membership--you may have to explain some concepts or terms that you think are very elementary.
-
Remember that Hearthstone is very eclectic in its membership--no matter
how obscure you may think your knowledge is, someone is likely to be familiar
with it.
-
Remember that Hearthstone sees no national boundaries. The fact that someone
is speaking to you in English does not mean that they understand it in
exactly the same way you do.
-
Remember that email is purely a written media, and that when talking many things other than words are used to convey meaning and intent. Some people may read things into your post that you did not intend, and you may read more into a post than the writer meant. Think twice before taking offence at something someone said, and be generous in your patience when someone else takes offence at something you've said.
-
Remember that Hearthstone is an email list, and as such is dependent on servers and routers to transfer messages--some servers are slower than others and not everyone checks their mail at the same time or even every day. Sometimes there will be delays to replies and these are not always the fault of the writer.
-
Remember that everyone on Hearthstone is a person, just like you, and people have good days and bad days. Sometimes rudeness is not intentional.
-
Remember that Hearthstone is a community, and as such has its own atmosphere and ambiance. While everyone is welcome here so long as they follow the rules, sometimes mistakes can be avoided by watching the list for a while and seeing how everyone interacts and becoming familiar with the members as individuals. Don't let this stop you from joining in, though.
-
Have fun--don't take yourself or the list too seriously :>
